About Gerhard
Twenty years of learning how to really see
I am a UKCP registered systemic and family psychotherapist with a background spanning NHS CAMHS, child protection, and inpatient adolescent mental health. This site is a space to think, write, and connect.
My approach draws on trauma-informed care, EMDR, DBT, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy and systemic family therapy. I write here about the ideas that shape how I work.

Areas of expertise
Where my training runs deep
Individual Therapy
Support for anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem and personal growth, at a pace that feels right for you.
Couple Therapy
Rebuilding connection and communication using Emotionally Focused Therapy and systemic approaches.
Family Therapy
Navigating family conflict, transitions and breakdowns in communication, with input from everyone involved.
EMDR & Trauma
Accredited EMDR therapy for processing trauma and PTSD, alongside Acceptance & Commitment Therapy.
Like a grove, real change takes root slowly — and grows stronger for it.
What clients say
In their own words

Parent of a young client
“You never rushed to get home or on to your next client. You stayed until the session had gone as far as it needed to — it showed how much you genuinely care.”
Parent of a young client
“Your calm, unintrusive approach put my teenage daughter at ease and built real trust. We went from dread to her actually looking forward to sessions.”
